Walk through the empty space first
An empty home makes some surfaces easier to see and reach. Take a room-by-room look before deciding what you want cleaned. Note existing damage, loose fittings and areas that may need maintenance. A cleaning visit should not be expected to repair a problem with the home.
Make sure you have permission and access for the intended time. If there are painters, installers or other trades still working, ask when they will finish. Cleaning before the last dust-producing job can mean paying attention to the same surfaces twice.
Prioritize what your belongings will cover
Cabinet shelves, drawers, closet floors and the floor area under furniture can be harder to access after unpacking. If you want those areas included, name them in the quote request and keep them empty for the visit. Do not assume every interior surface comes with a move-in clean.
Appliance interiors deserve the same explicit conversation. Ask what condition they are in and what preparation is needed. Follow the appliance manufacturer’s instructions and do not disconnect or move an appliance simply to create access.
Plan the kitchen and bathrooms
Write a clear list of the kitchen surfaces and bathroom fixtures you want addressed. Separate ordinary cleaning from problems such as damaged caulk, leaking fixtures or deteriorated grout. A clean surface and a repaired surface are different outcomes.
If the property has unfamiliar materials, ask the owner or installer for the care instructions. Natural stone, finished wood and specialty coatings can require different approaches. Sharing that information is more useful than prescribing a strong product for every surface.
Keep the moving sequence workable
Schedule the clean while the space is accessible and before the main unpacking if possible. Allow time to check the work before furniture blocks the areas you wanted reached. Coordinate the appointment with the key holder and moving crew rather than leaving access to chance.
If boxes have already arrived, identify a staging area so the agreed rooms remain reachable. Explain what is blocked and revise the scope if necessary. A partly unpacked move can still be discussed, but it is different from a fully empty home.

Include the city, approximate size, whether the space is empty and your planned move-in timing. List interior cabinets, closets or appliances as explicit priorities if you want them quoted. Ask how to prepare without taking on unfamiliar maintenance tasks yourself.
