Define what “finished” means
A contractor may be finished with installation while other trades are still creating dust. Before arranging a final clean, identify what work remains in each room and whether the area will stay clear afterward. The schedule should reflect the condition of the space, not just the project’s target end date.
Ask who is responsible for tools, leftover materials and construction debris. Those tasks should not silently become part of a cleaning request. A clear handoff helps everyone understand what will be present when cleaning begins.
Collect care information for new finishes
New flooring, countertops, coated fixtures and installed appliances may have specific cleaning or curing instructions. Ask the installer or manufacturer for the relevant guidance and pass it on when discussing the scope.

Describe residue accurately
